Job Title: Speech & Language Therapist Grade: Band 6 or 7 Trust: Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health Care NHS Trust Location: Evesham Community Hospital, WR11 1JT Hours: 2.5-5 days a week, Monday-Friday, 09.00-17.00 with flexibility Pay rate: £21.80-£23.52 Job Type: Ongoing bank placement Length: 3 months (provisional) HWHAC are currently seeking organised and motivated candidates to fulfil SLT opportunities with the Adult SLT, Integrated Community Services team at under a long-term placement contract.Are you a dynamic and enthusiastic individual with excellent communication skills looking to embark on a new opportunity within the NHS? The applicant will have knowledge and experience of working with patients with a diagnosis of stroke and with patients with complex dysphagia and communication difficulties. They will be confident with independent working and have experience of MDT working. The postholder will be given a service induction including training on patient related IT processes and systems. HWHAC have seven community hospitals/recovery units across Worcestershire. They provide a range of inpatient and outpatient services and support people to recovery from surgery or illness when they don't require acute care but neither can they be treated at home. They are a key part of the local healthcare system. Role Details: To assess, treat and manage own caseload of patients and to maintain accurate clinical records To devise and deliver specialised programmes of care and communicate treatment details to patients, carers, and members of the MDT To formulate accurate prognosis and recommend the best course of intervention, developing comprehensive discharge plans To monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of Speech & Language Therapy interventions and modify as appropriate To follow and contribute to the development of departmental policies/guidelines and to participate in the development of innovations in service delivery taking account of clinical governance To be responsible for maintaining own competency and self-developments "}
