Please contact Anna Kalin on Ann.Kalin2@nhs.net or Dr Samantha Phillips on s.phillips24@nhs.net An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Senior Mental Health Practitioner to work in the Asylum and Refugee Clinic (ARC); a small, highly specialised service supporting children and young people with a presentation of PTSD. ARC forms part of Specialised Services within CAMHS in AWP. If you are passionate about working cross culturally with those who have been forced to leave their homes due to conflict and have experienced traumatic journeys to seek safety; if you believe in the difference that can be made by working with a multi-disciplinary system to understand and recognise the impact of this trauma, we would love to hear from you. The post holder will work with a diverse client group using nonverbal and creative modalities as part of clinical therapy sessions, or working verbally through interpreters. The successful practitioner will require significant experience of delivering evidence based therapeutic interventions for PTSD (preferably with children and adolescents) and preferably hold additional training in working with PTSD. The service covers Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire (BNSSG) and is based in East and Central CAMHS in the Barton Hill Settlement. We work alongside accommodation providers, and the post holder will in-reach into these. Summary of key duties (please see Job Description for full list) To provide direct highly specialist psychotherapeutic assessments and interventions for children with PTSD and adult networks referred to ARC according to NICE guidelines and best practice evidence. To work jointly with staff from other agencies in direct work with children and young people and their families To provide clinical reports within the agreed time scales for individual assessments. Join with Clinical Lead and Service Manager to promote clinical governance, service improvement and effective team functioning. To participate in regular reviews of cases and attend case discussions, conferences and reviews as appropriate. To attend Service and Team Meetings, CAMHS and Trust Wide as appropriate. To contribute to relevant CAMHS, Trust and Cross-agency working groups at request of Clinical Lead. To assist management in staff recruitment, retention and provide staff supervision. To participate in clinical supervision to conform with clinical risk management requirements and professional registration. To participate in audit activity and, when requested, lead audit activity within the multi-disciplinary team. To provide activity data on a regular basis. To be responsible for own workload, and engage with professional practice supervision and caseload review through the management process. "}
