Our Paediatric intensive care unit is one of the largest for children in the UK and Europe and offers intensive treatment and support for all specialties including oncology, neurology, metabolic medicine renal medicine, ENT, endocrinology, and respiratory medicine. For the senior staff nurse role, we welcome applications from nurses with experience within the speciality and a recognised ITU qualification . You would be required to take a senior role within the management of the care of critically ill children, supporting staff through teaching and mentorship and liaising with the MDT. There will be opportunities to join the clinical emergency team responding to emergency calls within the trust and to train to care for patients on hemofiltration. You will also enhance your managerial skills training to take charge of clinical shifts of 17 patients. There will also be an opportunity to train as a critical care transport nurse and rotate to work shifts with the Children's Acute Transport Service. We run a Band 6 development pathway incorporating leadership skills and collaboration with colleagues. You will be supported by the practice education team and be working alongside clinical and medical experts from across the world. Main duties of the job To provide clinical leadership to a designated nursing team and ensure the provision of high quality nursing care to children and families.
