We are looking for a nurse who is enthusiastic and experienced, to join the Safeguarding Team as Domestic Abuse Liaison Practitioner. This position will be full time, fixed term or secondment for 12 months. If you are currently employed by the Trust and you wish to apply for this role on a secondment basis, please seek permission from your current line manager before applying for the post This exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the safeguarding team, we are looking for someone to focus developing a plan for educating and training staff to feel confident in supporting a patient who has (or is suspected to have) suffered domestic abuse and work closely with community partners to safeguard our patients. The successful candidate will work within the children's, midwifery and adult safeguarding teams and be provided with relevant training and support to undertake the role. You will have knowledge of MARAC and Domestic Abuse processes. You will have experience of safeguarding vulnerable children and/or adults. You will have experience of multi-agency partnership working and experience of providing education to all levels of staff. Flexibility will be required to work across the adults, children's and midwifery safeguarding teams where required. The post holder will act as a resource for members of the multidisciplinary team and facilitate an environment of learning to promote the development of staff and will also support Mandatory Domestic Abuse Training. The candidate must be a registered health care professional, (the post requires you to hold registration with the appropriate professional Regulatory Body (NMC or HCPC) and to comply with their professional code of conduct), with at least 4 years post registration experience. The candidate should be able to evidence excellent and engaging training/presentation skills, good written and verbal skills and an ability to prioritise workload. They should be enthusiastic and understand the skills and knowledge required to develop themselves and team members. The candidate should have good IT skills, including a working knowledge of MS word, excel, outlook and Teams. It is desirable that you hold a teaching and/or mentorship qualification and have recent experience of teaching. Work in partnership with other members of the safeguarding team and the wider multi agency team to support our work together to achieve agreed, common goals/outcomes in ensuring awareness of domestic abuse remain a high profile within all clinical activity in the Trust.
