Main duties of the job The role of Clinical Nurse Specialist for the Inherited Cardiovascular Diseases (ICVD) & Electrophysiology (EP) at Great Ormond Street Hospital is to provide expert clinical care, leadership and education. You will also participate in audit and research involving patients with known inherited cardiovascular disease or cardiac arrhythmias. You will have the ability to develop and improve service delivery by driving and implementing change. You will work in collaboration with the team's other Clinical Nurse Specialists and MDT (Multidisciplinary Team) to ensure that the team delivers an excellent standard of evidence-based care, providing expert support to patients and families affected by inherited and acquired cardiac conditions. Both services have busy outpatient clinics. You will be expected to have excellent communication skills and clinical knowledge to support the whole family throughout the process of screening, diagnosis, and on-going care. You will also be responsible for the clinical co-ordination of the inpatient services. You would provide clinical support and be an expert resource for the clinical team including working with the wards to provide support from preadmission through to discharge and liaising regularly with the medical team and MDT. We will support your clinical development and will provide a tailored educational pathway.
