A key element of this role is to ensure the daily deliver of supplies across the site and the accurate processing of relevant documentation and orders. Daily supervision of Good Distribution Centre (GDC) Portering Service staff. Monitor attendance and absence of GDC Portering Services Staff. Document and arrange cover for sickness absence, annual leave and training. Inform GDC Portering staff of any relevant information or amendments to the rota Monitor performance of all GDC Portering staff in line with the core values and behaviours of the role. Complete relevant administrative documentation relating to sickness, annual leave, training and Appraisal's. Conduct return to work interviews for GDC Portering Services Staff. Training new and current staff in line with policies and procedures i.e. cages and manual handling. Forward reporting on a daily basis to the Portering Manager. Good Understanding of how the role contributes to infection prevention and control within the healthcare environment. Attend all necessary training to gain the knowledge and skills required to be a fully competent Shift Leader. Attend necessary training in line with the Facilities Services refresher training requirements and the Trust Mandatory Training Matrix. Participate in the Trust annual appraisal system and personal development process.
