This role would include working alongside a Registered Midwife in Antenatal Clinic, welcoming in women, performing observations and venepuncture, and supporting midwives in the smooth running of clinics. Additionally our Maternity Support Workers will run their own clinics with support from midwives. Shifts are Monday to Friday day times. If you are keen to learn, enthusiastic and passionate about wanting to help people, then the Maternity department is the ideal place for you to work as a Maternity Support Worker. Training and development will be provided, and an outstanding team will be there to support and work alongside you. You will also undertake Trust Induction Programme. You should have excellent organisational, time-management and interpersonal skills and an ability to work within a team and on your own initiative is essential. You must be open to change and interested in your own personal development. You must have the ability to communicate effectively and be flexible within the existing shift system and have an appreciation of the principles of confidentiality. There is an expectation that you will hold some existing clinical skills when applying for a band 3 role such as venepuncture and maternal observations. Working under the direct supervision and guidance of the midwife, you must be a team player, responsible for providing a wide range of care and duties to support women and their families.
