We are looking for a highly specialist Clinical Psychologist to provide a Psychology assessment, formulation, intervention and consultation service to the multidisciplinary Tier 3 Weight Management Service based in West Cheshire and Warrington. This post provides a unique and exciting opportunity to be the Clinical Psychologist lead for Tier 3 Weight Management in a welcoming, supportive, and specialist physical health care NHS service. The post is suitable for a Clinical Psychologist who wishes to develop their skills and knowledge in the clinical area of Tier 3 Weight Management, providing highly specialist psychological assessment and interventions to patients and advice and consultation to multi-professional colleagues in the team. The role will involve developing bespoke interventions, both individual and group, for patients accessing the service, and providing psychological assessments, formulations and advice regarding appropriateness of onward referral to Tier 4 Bariatric Surgery. The post is filled via a Service Level Agreement with the Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, with supervision and development opportunities provided by Cheshire and Wirral Partnership (CWP) NHS Foundation Trust. CWP has strong links with the three local Clinical Psychology doctoral training programmes at Liverpool, Lancaster and Manchester Universities and it is anticipated that the post holder will provide Trainee Clinical Psychologist placements. Research and service evaluation will be a key feature of the post, and CWP offers training and support via the SORT-IT (Structured Operational Research and Training Initiative) programme. Both professional and clinical supervision is available for the post holder from CWP. The post holder will be welcomed into the Psychology family that exists within CWP and includes opportunities to become an active contributor to CWP Psychology developments. The post is 2 days a week (0.4 WTE, 15 hours), with input split evenly between the West Cheshire and Warrington teams. Opportunities exist to consider additional hours per week in other specialist services provided by CWP. Unfortunately, due to the level of responsibility required in this post, we are unable to provide this as a Band 7 to 8a development post. CWP provides health and care services for local people, including mental health, learning disability, community physical health and all-age disability care – including the provision of three GP surgeries.
