The successful candidate will work alongside the 2 psychologists in the team who are part of a wider Paediatric Psychological Medicine team covering many physical health specialties in Addenbrookes Hospital. The wider Team is predominately made up of psychologists but also Psychiatrists, Counsellors, Assistant Psychologists, Nurses and a family Therapist. Collectively we work to improve the integration of Physical and Psychological care which is a focus of the Cambridge Children's Hospital of the future. To work with the Brainbow Team (Rehabilitation Team for children with Brain Tumours) to support and enhance the professional psychological care of children who have a brain tumour. To specifically work with children and young people who are aged 12 to 16 and their families on the process of preparation and transition to adult care. To support the running of focus groups, and semi-structured interviews with children and young people who have had a brain tumour and their family members, around the process and experience of Teenage and Young Adult services. To contact and liaise with the regional and national services to explore their health transition process. To assist in the development of a best practice health transition pathway within the Brainbow Service and to evaluate this pathway. To write up findings and assist the Clinical Psychologist to disseminate these findings to the wider team including Toms Trust and the Neuro Oncology Special Interest Group. To assist in the design and implementation of audit and research projects. To undertake data collection, analysis, the production of reports and summaries, using IT and statistical programmes. To work alongside other members of the MDT including the Speech and language Therapy, Specialist Teacher and Occupational Therapist.
