Join Our Team as Principal Pharmacist, Medicines Advice and Governance! Are you an enthusiastic and motivated individual looking for an exciting new opportunity!We are seeking a dynamic Principal Pharmacist to lead our Medicines Information and pharmacy advice services. In this pivotal role, you will: * Provide expert Medicines Information and pharmacy advice to the Trust and service users. * Collaborate with Lead Pharmacists to address and report on medicines safety and governance issues. * Lead the training of pharmacy staff, ensuring they deliver professional, evidence-based medicines advice that meets the highest standards and user needs. This is a thrilling time to join us! Our team has recently undergone a restructure to better achieve our goal of delivering outstanding pharmacy services. As a key member of the pharmacy clinical team, you will work closely with clinical services, patient services, and procurement teams to provide exceptional patient-focused care. We are looking for someone who: * Demonstrates excellent communication and time management skills. * Has a keen attention to detail. * Possesses previous experience in hospital pharmacy and a solid understanding of pharmacy medicines information and governance processes. To introduce and review prescribing recommendations into the Trust as required in line with local and national policies, guidelines and frameworks e.g. NICE, Patient Safety Alerts. To ensure all reference sources, guidelines and protocols in Medicines Information are current and up to date. To ensure seamless transfer of pharmaceutical care for patients, liaising with other acute Trusts, GPs, Community and primary care pharmacists as appropriate. To identify and address prescribing issues across the interface and ensure seamless transfer of pharmaceutical care for patients liaising with the other acute Trusts, GPs, Community and PCN pharmacists as appropriate. To promote the safe, rational and cost-effective use of medicines in accordance with recommendations of the SWL Joint Formulary, Surrey Heartlands APC and other evidence based guidelines. To be responsible for the development, maintenance and evaluation of evidence based treatment guidelines, policies, procedures, shared care protocols and patient group directions (PGDs) Apply specialist clinical knowledge and judgment to analyse information, at times where evidence may be lacking, in order to negotiate the optimal clinical outcome To provide a medicines information service to the Trust, ensuring appropriate documentation and recording of enquiries in the Medicines Information database.
