The post holder will provide professional, managerial and robust leadership to a specified ward area, being responsible for the ward area and leading the staff team. Promoting and assessing robust risk assessment and management processes are paramount to the role, and continuous development and quality improvements should be a main focus of the role. The post holder will manage within the constraints of the identified budget, as directed by the Modern Matron. The post holder will actively support and participate in the integration of a whole system approach with multi-disciplinary working at all times. The post holder will perform delegated duties on behalf of the Modern Matron in their absence. The post holder will ensure everyone, including staff, patients and visitors, has their right to be treated with respect and have their values and beliefs maintained and that they treated in such a way that maintains their privacy and dignity. Leading the staff team and ensuring high levels of morale and the best standards of care for all inpatients whilst on placement in the area. The role has a wide scope of duties involving Management, Education, Practice Development, Administration, Personal management and Health & Safety. Day to day running of the unit whilst supporting staff and patients is also essential, therefore the candidate must be highly motivated to deliver the best care possible using evidence based practice and work collaboratively with the secure networks and the Trust to grow and develop the service.
