The Director of Midwifery and Nursing - Women's Health & Breast (DOM) will lead and advocate for safe, high quality maternity, gynaecology and breast care, leading the strategic and operational delivery of local services. The Maternity service has recently been rated good by the CQC and has been able to submit full compliance with CNST year 5 and 6. The DOM is a key position, accountable to the Director of Nursing, with a prime focus on the day-to-day delivery of high standards of patient centred care across integrated care pathways and services and operational delivery. Professional midwifery leadership is a key and fundamental function of the DOM role, professionally accountable to the Director of Nursing, with a focus on the strategic delivery of high standards of midwifery, Gynae and breast services across the 3 sites. The role involves working in partnership with other organisations across the Integrated Care System (ICS) and the post holder will develop and maintain a network of mutually beneficial relationships with the LMNS, maternity providers, Public Health England, Health Education England, Care Quality Commission, the Regional Chief Midwife, the Royal Colleges and other key stakeholders. This is with the aim of taking forward national polices for patients across the ICS and developing a long term strategic vision that enables high quality and sustainable services contributing to the provision of high quality care, improved outcomes and improved family experiences.
