To provide highly specialist nutritional treatment plans for patients at risk or high risk of malnutrition and frailty. Regularly evaluate treatment plans to ensure they are safe and effective To provide advice on the use of oral nutritional supplements, enteral and parenteral nutrition as required Act as an independent practitioner and be professionally accountable and responsible for aspects of own work. Decide priorities for own work, balance patient related and professional demands in consultation with other Dietitian team leaders and Service Lead To be responsible for planning and service development within specialist areas To identify service needs and maximise the efficiency of the team within the resource available. Provision of expert advice on the management of patients referred to the nutrition team due to additional complex clinical and nutritional needs. To attend ward rounds, MDT meetings and best interest meetings as needed, promoting an understanding of the role of diet and nutrition in achieving the best outcome for each patient. Provide training to healthcare professionals regarding nutritional care and interventions, including presentations. Develop and implement pathways, diet sheets, and teaching materials in relation to nutrition and dietetics for use by the department and other professions. Collect all data necessary to meet local requirements for service monitoring Work in conjunction with colleagues on development and implementation of local policies based on national nutritional guidance To identify and undertake clinical audit Maintain professional competence and expertise, keeping up-to-date with current research, working practices and models of working. Comply with professional guidelines and Code of Practice Participate in personal and professional development through objective setting and regular job review. The Inpatient Dietitian Team has an exciting opportunity to recruit a highly motivated Clinical Lead Dietitian for Nutrition Support. You will work alongside Clinical Leads in Catering; Gastroenterology and enteral nutrition; Critical Care, Surgery and Parenteral Nutrition, reporting to the Team Lead. The Inpatient Dietitian Team is part of the Integrated Nutrition and Dietetic service at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust with Community Dietitians, Patient Education and TYA Diabetes Dietitian. Key areas of focus for the role will be nutrition support pathways and use of nutritional supplements within the service, to ensure these are the most required as well as cost effective. You will support developing pathways with the Community Dietitian team. All Clinical Lead Dietitians delegate for the Team Lead and Service Lead, as required. You will provide supervision to Band 6 and 5 Dietitians working on medical wards. You will receive regular supervision from the Team Lead and access to internal and external training.
