This will be a part-time post with hours to be confirmed. Experienced is preferred however full training will be given. Applicants should be organised and able to prioritise their own workload, be a well-motivated person with a positive and flexible approach to their work and able to adapt to changing/challenging situations. The post involves contact with patients and their families either face to face or via telephone, so good communication skills are essential. The successful candidate will be required to maintain strict confidentiality and will be expected to deal with patients and relatives with courtesy and discretion at all times. Hours of work: Monday - Friday between the hours of 08:00-18:30 on a rota basis Ensure an effective and efficient reception service is provided to patients and any other visitor to the practice. Deal with all general enquiries. Communicate test results using taught skills and ensuring accuracy Explain practice arrangements and formal requirements to new patients and those seeking temporary cover and ensure procedures are completed. Receive and make telephone calls as required. Phones to be answered promptly. Divert calls and take messages, ensuring accuracy of detail and prompt appropriate delivery. Keep your working environment clean, tidy and free from clutter at all times. Ensure that you provide an efficient, professional and detailed handover to the member of staff taking over from you before you leave your duty. Action repeat prescription requests as per practice policy as and when required. (Electronic Prescribing is in operation at the Practice.) Action on a daily basis electronic workflow and ensure that tasks are kept up to date. Enter patient information on to the computer in a timely manner and as appropriate to ensure patient safety at all times. Manage patient requests for advice, home visits and appointments as per practice policy. Maintenance of patient clinical records (electronic and paper) notes Undertake any other additional duties appropriate to the post as required. "}
