The post holder will be responsible for :To work as a skilled member of the nursing team providing a high standardof holistic patient centred care.To promote patient centred care and establish good relationships withpatients and carers.To provide a welcoming and safe environment for patients.To communicate effectively with the multidisciplinary team.To contribute to the mentoring, training and education of learners and juniorstaffThe post holder will initially be based in the specialty of General Surgery &Cancer ServicesThe post holder will be an experienced nurse who uses specialist knowledgeand skills to support the Breast care TeamThe post holder will work under the supervision of Clinical Nurse Specialist 1.Under-take relevant clinical assessment, reviewing clinical signs andresults to support the patient's on-going treatment plan as required2 perform delegated clinical interventions against specialty protocol, eg:seroma aspirations, complex wound dressings, venepuncture.3.Ability to oversee the running of the department when required andgive support HCSWs in clinics where treatments or investigations arebeing undertaken.4.Undertake nurse led clinics following training.5. request routine investigations as specialty protocol allows6. integrate both pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment inpatient care.7. produce accurate and complete documentation and patient recordsconsistent with legislation, policies and procedures8.anticipate barriers to communication and establish methods ofovercoming these, ensuring patients and significant others are keptfully informed and consent to treatment is maintained9 act as a resource for staff advising on local, Trust and national policy,procedures and guidelines ensuring patient safety and clinicalgovernance10. understand and apply the legal safeguarding framework that supportsthe identification of vulnerable and abused adults/children and beaware of statutory vulnerable patients' health procedures and Trustguidance.
