There are opportunities to develop your career supported by an established and welcoming team. If you are eager to learn and develop new skills in an acute respiratory care setting then this role is for you! Our unit is a busy proactive 19 bedded ward we admit adults with a diverse range of acute and complex respiratory conditions and are looking for a highly motivated individual with the passion to deliver excellent care with compassion and a can do attitude. You must have a willingness to undertake further training E.G. phlebotomy, ECG recording to support the team in the management of patients with acute medical conditions. In return you will be fully supported by colleagues who are committed to teaching and nurturing. We recognise that our staff are our most valuable resource, and we are proud of the excellent levels of service our team provides to our service users and the dedication and professionalism of our staff. Experience of working with medical patients in a hospital setting would be beneficial but not essential, However, working well within a team is essential. You will need to be flexible in your working hours to work shifts/unsocial hours including nights as required. You will be responsible for providing a range of personalised care for patients and a range of clinical duties under the guidance and supervision of the team leader/nurse in charge including: assisting patients with personal hygiene, toileting, use of continence aids, catheter care, stoma care, measuring & monitoring patient output, removal of catheters, moving and handling, use of mobility appliances, correct patient positioning, assess pressure areas and skin integrity, ensuring patient safety, taking specimens including blood sugars, taking and recording physical measurements observing patients for changes in condition, carrying out simple dressings, removal of venflons.
