An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Nurse to join the Specialist Palliative Care Service based at Macmillan Day Services, Cornhill Macmillan Centre, Perth Royal Infirmary, Perth. Macmillan Day Services has undergone exciting and dynamic redesign in recent months and further developments planned. You will work as a key member of the MDT team within Specialist Palliative Care Services collaborating with members of the Health and Social Care Partnership. The Macmillan Day Care Charge Nurse will be responsible for the operational management, planning, co-ordination, delivery and evaluation of effective, high quality nursing care in the day care setting. They will closely work with the Community Macmillan Nursing and Day Care Team Leader and with the in-patient unit at Cornhill Macmillan Centre. In order to fully integrate into the nursing team, you will be required to participate in clinical supervision, reflective practice and to promote patient centred care. Excellent communication and leadership skills and evidence of relevant personal development are essential. The post would offer opportunities for continued professional development. Hours of work are: 30 hours NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
