You will need to be determined, driven, adaptable and enthusiastic. Demonstrate excellent communication skills and be able to work autonomously. You will work supporting the specialist nurses to ensure the smooth running of clinics. Work alongside members of the MDT and liaise with families, providing teaching and information as needed. As part of your role, you will be expected to obtain bloods and insert cannulas ready for planned blood transfusion. Therefore, previous venepuncture and cannulation skills are desirable but full training will be given if required. In return you will learn new skills and develop specialist knowledge within the haematology field. Support will also be given to attended study days and to continue your professional development. The post holder will carry out phlebotomy duties. Set up and run clinics within the haematology department. Liaise with families and the MDT to make appointments and any referrals that are required. Support ward 84 day case with bone marrow aspirate lists that run. Support the specialist nurses and the team leader within the haematology service.
