Sidney House and The Laurels Surgery has an opportunity for a part-time receptionist, on a part time basis for 20 hours per week, to join our friendly and supportive team. The working pattern is: Monday 8am - 1pm Tuesday 1:30pm - 6:30pm Thursday 1:30pm - 6:30pm Friday 8am - 6:30pm In this essential front-line role at the practice, receptionists help patients to access the right services, which is not always a doctor, assist with keeping health records accurate and up-to-date, and ensure that appointment bookings are well-managed. Receptionists must be confident working with the general public, and able to remain calm under pressure. Patients are being encouraged to use online systems to contact their surgeries and so the successful candidate must be confident with IT and be prepared to fully embrace digital ways of working. Greeting and directing all patients. Making appointments and giving out appointment cards, where required Accepting, issuing and handing out prescriptions, letters, completed forms, specimen bottles, etc. Dealing with requests for information, managing problems and complaints. Advising patients of practice procedures. Registering new patients. Answering the telephone promptly. Promoting the use of online services as a means of accessing healthcare. Chaperoning for colleagues and patients when requested. "}
