An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Division of Surgery & Cancer in the recruitment of a highly motivated and dynamic band 6 nurse for Conifer Ward. The successful candidate must be an innovative, hardworking and enthusiastic adult nurse with a broad range of skills and experiences. The post holder will be a role model of the Barts Health values and key behaviours to all members oof the team and the wider MDT. As a senior member of the ward team, the band 6 will be a competent, confident practitioner who can care for and manage the deteriorating and acutely ill patient, escalating concerns to the appropriate medical and outreach teams. The post holder must have competent management and facilitation skills to co-ordinate and supervise the activity of ward staff, promote multi-disciplinary working and foster a supportive, learning environment. In absence of the ward manager, the post holder will assume responsibility for the effective operation of the ward, including audit and budgetary roles, that the ward environment is maintained in a clean safe way, and all staff follow the Trust infection control policy, dress code and all the other Trust policies and protocols. As a Registered nurse and the post holder is expected is expected to consistently act in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
