Our cleaning staff played and essential role and carry on doing so in fighting the global pandemic. They are responsible for cleaning the areas that are hosts for potentially dangerous germs and viruses. Here at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust, we have new exciting opportunities to join our Facilities Team at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary as a Domestic Assistant (cleaner) to support the Trust in delivering a clean and safe environment for patients, visitors and staff. The role is a 37.5 hour vacancy. 5 days over 7 12:00-20:00 No experience necessary, full training will be given and uniform provided. We offer a competitive salary which includes additional payments for working weekends and evenings. To be responsible for a high standard of cleanliness in Clinical areas, public areas and external areas using the appropriate recognised cleaning methods. Responsible for identifying areas to be cleaned, plan and organise a cleaning programme with relevant ward or departmental staff, ensuring Patient, Staff and Visitor safety is not compromised. Operating cleaning equipment, machinery in accordance with manufacturer’s instruction ensuring that it is in a good clean working order, reporting faults immediately to supervisor. Undertake deep clean/isolation cleans following national and local guidelines. Carry out spot cleaning to ensure spillages and incidents are dealt with swiftly and efficiently, supported by Clinical staff as appropriate. To adhere to all relevant COSHH assessments and Safety Data sheets when preparing, using and disposing of cleaning chemicals. We operate from three main hospitals-Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre. FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services. WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses. All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay. Our community services for adults are provided in people’s homes, community centres, clinics, GP Practices, community hospitals and our main hospitals.
