An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, flexible Band 7 Speech and Language Therapist to join our growing Adult SALT team. The principle purpose of the role is to improve clinical outcomes for trans and gender diverse patients accessing the Cheshire and Merseyside Gender Identity Clinic (CMAGIC). The successful candidate will establish, develop, deliver and evaluate a high quality, evidence based, specialist speech and language therapy service for this client group, with the support and supervision of the Voice service lead. The role will involve offering assessment and voice therapy/coaching interventions to reduce distress associated with communication patterns that are felt to be incongruent with the service user's gender identity. The service will predominantly be provided remotely and from the Broadgreen site and include group and individual sessions. The post holder will work as part of the voice team, with well-established SLT led and multidisciplinary voice clinic services. You will engage with SLTs working in the field across the country and with the local CMAGIC MDT. The post holder will receive professional and clinical supervision in accordance with Trust policy and Professional Practice Guidelines set out by the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists. We have regular team meetings and are committed to continuing professional development. We have a clear supervision structure and support and advice is available from our highly skilled Clinical Specialists within the department. Band 7 employees provide clinical lead roles and are required to supervise junior therapists and assistant staff, and deputise for 8a team leads .
