MIDLOTHIAN COMMUNITY HEALTH & SOCIAL CARE PARTNERSHIP Community Mental Health / Primary Care PRIMARY CARE MENTAL HEALTH NURSE BAND 6 £37,831 - £46,100 Full time Midlothian Health and Social Care Partnership are developing new roles to support the actions in the Mental Health Strategy 2017-2027 and the Primary Care Improvement Fund. We are seeking to recruit a Primary Care Mental Health Nurse to join our established team in Midlothian. This post will be varied and challenging, working across services and will require excellent assessment skills, a significant degree of flexibility, good team working and a demonstrated ability to solve problems. The post will be managed within the Health and Social Care Partnership in Midlothian, providing outreach into GP Practices providing psychiatric assessments and interventions to those with mild to moderate mental health problems. A Non Medical Prescribing qualification would be advantageous but is not essential. This is an opportunity to truly influence and improve the primary care experience for people seeking mental health support within Midlothian. As a valued member of our integrated services you will be actively involved in developing and promoting the integration agenda. Ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery is essential for this post. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post. NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
