Main duties of the job To develop and maintain clinical skills and knowledge necessary to provide holistic, evidence based nursing care. This includes completion of the Trustsclinical skills competency toolkit and expanded role responsibilities, following appropriate training. To be competent in the administration of medication including under patient group directives To ensure clinical practice is evidence based or peer reviewed \"best practice\". To be competent in the use of all relevant Trust IT systems ensuring that data is entered in an accurate and timely fashion, in accordance with Trustpolicy and procedure. Work as a member of the Outpatients health care team to ensure and monitor that the clinic rooms are stocked, equipped and ready for use at the start of clinic each day and all safety checks done including the checking of the emergency resuscitation equipment. Be responsible with within Outpatients the smooth flow of patients into designated clinic rooms and keep families informed of changes or delays to clinics. Help facilitate the patients through their journey particularly with multiple appointments and complex needs. Make minor modifications to support the experience of Learning Disability Children within the Outpatients department and act on feedback. To provide patient care to an allocated group of patients including undertaking of patient observations reporting any unusual results to the nurse in charge.
