The fetal Medicine Unit workload has been steadily increasing over the years, and this is a reflection of increasing delivery rate at . An exciting development opportunity has arisen for an experienced midwife to join our friendly team as the Fetal Medicine Lead Midwife. This post is a permanent position for 37.5 hours per week. The post holder will contribute to the safe, effective, and efficient running of the Fetal Medicine service in the provision of excellent maternity care for women and families accessing the FMU services. The role requires effective team working across several professional groups and departments to offer safe, personal and effective care. The Specialist Midwife for Fetal Medicine is expected to be an expert clinical midwife who will give advice and guidance on the midwifery care of women, babies and their families. The post holder will provide clinical and managerial leadership and will lead and coordinate midwives to provide midwifery care for women during the fetal medicine pathway. The Specialist Midwife for Fetal Medicine will work in partnership with the Antenatal and Newborn Screening (ANNBS) Midwives, and ensure that abnormal screening results are responded to expediently and within the appropriate time frames. The Specialist Midwife for Fetal Medicine will participate in the provision of effective individualised, women-centred, evidence based midwifery care. They will provide professional leadership .
