An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Children's Epilepsy Service for a permanent band 7 nurse for 30 hours per week. This post will lead an established Band 6 team of clinical nurse specialists, and work alongside our Children's Epilepsy Surgery Service, to provide a holistic package of support to children and families with Epilepsy. This band 7 post will offer an opportunity to develop, strengthen, and lead our Epilepsy team providing a robust service to children and families both in hospital and in the local community. We are seeking a caring, dynamic, reliable and committed nurse with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills to join and help lead the Children's Epilepsy Nurse Team. A desire to give the best care for children with epilepsy is essential for this post. You will be joining us at an exciting time, as we forge stronger links with community services and continue to develop the children's epilepsy care pathway and transition service. You will work closely with our team of friendly paediatric neurologists and paediatricians to ensure that children receive a seamless, quality service. Our Trust that has been awarded 'Good' by the CQC, Bristol Royal Hospital for Children (BRHC) is one of the most established and cutting-edge Children's Hospitals. The post holder will work as an integral member of the Multidisciplinary Team within University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust and across the community. The post holder will acknowledge and provide the overall responsibility for the provision of specialist nursing advice and support to patients and families, in-patient and out-patient, throughout their care pathway. The post holder will utilise skills of clinical expertise, leadership, education, and management to ensure a seamless service for patients, carers, and staff. S/he will provide advice, support, and information from the time of diagnosis and throughout care pathway S/he will work closely with the Neuroscience multidisciplinary team in hospital and the community to ensure a co-ordinated quality service and will be actively involved in education, audit and research.
