Main duties of the job You will be part of a fantastic, well-led team who care for patients during their outpatients experience to ensure a high standard of care is received. As a Senior Health Care Assistant you will support the qualified nursing staff to provide high standards of care to our patients. You will be a valued member of the multi-disciplinary team and support the team with care, assessment and treatment of patients. Quality of care is of the highest agenda for our department and thus concentrated efforts are ongoing to ensure a positive patient experience The team are committed to teaching and supporting staff and are looking for these qualities in new team members. You will work across all the Outpatients areas Main Outpatients, Chest Clinic, Brock Assessment unit and the new Mellor Suite. Job description Job responsibilities Duties to include, but not to be limited to- Provide good quality personalised care in accordance with agreed local and national standards Take samples from patients for testing or dispatching eg: Urine, sputum, faeces, MRSA swabs, blood sugars Assist patients to meet nutritional needs in line with their individual care plan. Become competent in taking ECGs, Bloods and any tasks deemed relevant to role and responsibilities Undertake clinical duties relevant to clinical area as deemed necessary, this may evolve and change following achievement of competencies. Assist to maintain patient safety, conforming to health, safety and security legislation, policies, procedures and guidelines . Assist in maintaining standards of care to improve the patient experience and outcome of care.
