We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included. NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and self-motivated technician to join the NHSGGC Prescribing Support Team and take forward key prescribing initiatives. As a key member of the Prescribing Team you will have an important role in promoting and implementing cost effective and evidence based prescribing within specific GP practices and Care Homes across NHS GGC. This role will involve working with GPs and the primary care multidisciplinary teams to improve medicines management and deliver excellent patient care. This role will involve delivery of the pharmacotherapy service as part of the GP contract and will provide an important function in supporting patients with their medicines. This post requires excellent communication, negotiation, organisational and IT skills along with the ability to influence and affect change. This is an opportunity to develop your career in Primary Care working with multi-disciplinary teams, particularly GP Practices, Community Pharmacies, Care Homes and across other care settings. Experience of working in Primary Care or as part of a multi-disciplinary team is desirable. Minimum requirements Pharmacy Technician, NVQ3 or BTEC in Pharmaceutical Sciences or Equivalent Registrant with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
