There will be an expectation of supervision and support of our Band 6 physiotherapist. Main duties of the job They will provide clinical expertise for the application of instrumented movement analysis in the wide range of patient groups referred to the department. The role will involve collecting both video and instrumented gait analysis data; including kinematics, kinetics, EMG and physical examination. The post holder will be responsible for data processing and reporting, along with presenting at multidisciplinary meetings where relevant. Data collection sessions are conducted alongside Clinical Scientists who provide technical expertise throughout and will also report and present data at MDTs in a similar way. The post holder would be expected to hold greater clinical responsibility for the gait service and reporting process, with scientists holding greater technical responsibility. Clinical input to the electrical stimulation services will also be required for both the Upper and Lower Limb FES pathway, including inpatient pathways. The user groups for this are people with neurological impairment of walking, for example MS or stroke. Person Specification Qualifications Essential Graduate diploma/Degree in Physiotherapy Or Degree in Engineering Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council as a physiotherapist or clinical scientist Evidence of relevant in-depth postgraduate study Desirable Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy Or Member of IPEM Qualification or working towards a level equivalent to a Masters degree Experience Essential For physiotherapists applicants: Minimum of 5 years post graduate experience including at least 2 years in a relevant clinical specialty, e.g. adult neuro rehabilitation and/or paediatric neurology For Clinical Scientist applicants - minimum of 3 years working within the Gait Analysis field with significant contribution to interpretation and reporting of gait analysis data.
