We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included. NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Nurse to join the ECMS Medical Specialities teams within the Royal Alexandra Hospital. This post is based within ward 27 General Medical/Rheumatology. Ward background The ward operates at 30 bed capacity and provides care to patients with a variety of medical conditions and illnesses. The ward also provides care to patients on a rheumatology pathway. The ward provides multiple learning opportunities and experiences. “It’s a busy ward but the staff are lovely and work well together”- RN Nurse Bank 2023 Staff Group & Work Pattern The team consists of a friendly and caring group of nurses at varying stages of their career and we would welcome applicants of all levels of experience. We are also keen to explore alternative work patterns out with the standard 12 hour rotational shift patterns. Roles & Responsibilities The successful candidates will become part of the nursing team who will support the assessment, planning and delivery of specialist care. You must be able to demonstrate your ability to engage in a positive ward culture and support the clinical team and engage in programmes of care to enhance the patient journey and patient experience contributing towards delivery of positive outcomes using the Excellence in Care framework. You will be responsible to the Senior Charge Nurse and be expected to work on your own merit, be supported by your colleagues and remain engaged in productive team dynamics. The successful candidate should be innovative and be creative within their organisational role.
