Job Summary: This is a key role within the Advanced Operations function, where you will form, influence and lead Advanced Operations Continence Care, Ostomy Care, and Advanced Wound Care across functional (and global) team that has responsibility for all new product and new technology introductions from a Global Quality and Operations perspective. This will include supporting process development with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) by reviewing and providing input, and launch support. This position will also support implementation of new processes, including communication and training activities. This is a global position influencing staff in remote locations. About the Role: Key Duties & Responsibilities Act as the primary Business Unit liaison partner between Global Quality & Operations (GQO) and the Technology and Innovation (T&I) Team. Direct leadership of Managers, Technical Project Managers, Engineering and Validations SME's and technicians. Drive Automation strategy for New Product Development. Aligning, knowledge sharing and supporting with other Business Unit peers in Advanced Operations is also critical . Direct responsibility for process validations for all new products and technologies. Ensure regulatory compliance and quality assurance for all markets. Ensure safe products, environment, and employees. Ensure the establishment of an efficient supply chain at time of launch. Limit opportunities for cost reduction by front loading the implementation of efficient processes in advance of product launch. Ensure technology development to support product life cycle management. Provide a challenging and rewarding environment for our high talent employees. Drive the Company's Mission, Values and Priorities initiatives, as well as the performance coaching process, to ensure a consistent high-performance culture. Develop and implement strategies for manufacturing optimization, make vs buy and New Product Development support. Deliver plans and timelines on all New Product Development projects and understand their impact on manufacturing plans (managing potential impact on capacity, cost and timelines as appropriate). Manage co-ordination cross functionally to provide and analyze business data to optimize operations. Communicate effectively and partner up with T&I , Manufacturing, Procurement, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory and Global Marketing. Develop, deploy, and upgrade automation and new technology for manufacturing capacity and processes required to meet the current demands and future growth of Business Unit's global customer base and thereby deliver on the strategic plan. Lead, support, and develop Business Unit lobal Engineering team - Team of project managers and engineers - with engineering capabilities in manufacturing, automation, process development, process validation, data analytics, and product quality. Provide dependable, reliable, safe, efficient, and innovative equipment and manufacturing processes for the Business Unit (BU) business - while also influencing BU products being designed for (high volume) manufacturing (\"DFM\") as well as designed for: quality, cost, and sustainability. Develop and continually refresh a world-class automation strategy that enables Infusion Care's strategic plan and leverages (and aligns with) Convatec's \"digital factory\"/ data architecture strategy and initiatives. Drive delivery of capital projects in line with Business Unit strategic plan. Accountable for the team's budget. Hold suppliers accountable for delivering automation projects on time, within budget and at the quality ConvaTec requires - while ensuring ConvaTec also has effective partnerships with those suppliers. Shape the supplier base as the needs of the business, manufacturing processes, products, and technology change. Engage with suppliers on emerging trends in the automation space (examples: modular automation, rapid format exchanges, automation data analytics, predictive maintenance analytics) and bring those into the business. Education/Qualifications 4-year college degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related fields. Post-graduate degree preferred. Minimum 5 years' experience in progressive leadership roles in manufacturing operations. Minimum 5 years' experience in the medical device industry. Multi-national work experience with responsibilities including operations outside the US. Demonstrated record of building high performance teams. Demonstrated record of working successfully within a matrix environment.
