An exciting opportunity has arisen at Sherwood Forest Hospitals for an enthusiastic and highly motivated pharmacist to join the high-cost drugs and homecare team. This is a newly created post that will help the job holder gain valuable experience to develop their career in this growing area. The post will be split (60:40) between working in the high-cost drugs/homecare team and working together with the lead oncology and nutrition pharmacist to provide support in the aseptic dispensing unit. Thus, the post holder will be able to develop their clinical skills as well as have the opportunity to help lead the department in driving the high-cost drugs service and work on areas such as medicines optimization and service development To work within the High-Cost Drugs (HCD) and Homecare team to achieve the following objectives: - Ensure that HCD at SFH are used in line with local and national policies (e.g., NICE technology appraisals, NHSE commissioning policies, and local agreements).- Provide accurate billing to the commissioners for reimbursement of HCD used at SFH.- Efficiently manage Patient Access Schemes, ensuring that all due rebates are claimed and reported to the Trust and Commissioners.- Develop and manage systems for drugs supplied via Homecare.- Provide advice and support on all pharmaceutical care issues, with particular emphasis on high-cost drug projects and homecare services.- Provide audit reports to the Trust and the Commissioners as required.- Ensure effective communication between the Commissioners and the Trust. **To support the Lead Oncology and Nutrition Pharmacist in:** - Providing service to the aseptic dispensing unit (ADU) and the clinical oncology/haematology pharmacy service to the Trust, in order to improve patient care and promote safe, evidence-based, and cost-effective prescribing.- Providing high-quality situational response within the aseptic dispensing unit (ADU) in the provision of aseptic services.- Supporting the provision of Parenteral Nutrition service.- Providing support to the Clinical Pharmacy service.
