We are looking for an Occupational Therapists, either a newly qualified OT or an experienced Band 5, interested to join a team of enthusiastic and committed professionals in delivering the Prime Minister’s Challenge on Dementia (2015) and the NHS Long Term Plan for Older Adults Mental Health services (2019) in Ealing. West London NHS Trust, Cognitive Impairment and Dementia services deliver specialist care to patients in the locality (both community and in-patients) who are experiencing cognitive problems & dementia that impacts upon their abilities to carry out activities of daily living This role is ideal for a B5 OT wanting to have an experience in a specialist area of Dementia care and for wanting to develop further in their career. This is a B5 post based in the vibrant borough of Ealing. The post holder will be an integral part of the multidisciplinary team and the wider occupational therapy team within the older people’s mental health service line. Patients who are referred to this service are those with cognitive impairment in advanced stages. Occupational Therapy service provide specialist care to patients diagnosed with Dementia, including but not limited to assessment, therapy intervention, sensory integration and specialist seating assessments. They will also work alongside activity co-ordinators and psychology colleagues in facilitating group and individual therapeutic activities either in the clinic or through electronic platforms. The older people’s mental health service (OPMHS) was previously known as cognitive impairment and dementia services (CIDS). We still offer the same services with the addition of provision for older people with severe and enduring mental health difficulties. West London NHS Trust is one of the most diverse healthcare providers in the UK, delivering a range of mental health and physical healthcare and community services.
