We are looking to recruit an experienced CBT Therapist in the Persistent Physical Symptoms Service who provide assessment and treatment for working age adults who are experiencing symptoms of Functional Neurological Disorders. This is an exciting time to join and be part of the transformation journey that the Community Mental Health Framework (CMHF) brings for increasing access to evidence based psychological therapies, within a highly specialist and individual service. The recently expanded multi-disciplinary team works with patients who experience persistent medically unexplained symptoms including functional neurological disorders, predominantly in community settings to deliver care and treatment to enable individuals to reach their recovery goals. Applicants must be BABCP accredited CBT therapists, and although further training in competences for severe mental health problems would be desirable but further training would be available for successful candidates. It is now no longer a requirement for CBT therapists in Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust to have a core profession in addition to accreditation, we now welcome applications from CBT therapists with a Knowledge Skills Attitude (KSA) equivalence portfolio. Due to the speciality of the service, it is advised you will contact the team to discuss the specifics of the role before application. We are looking for a CBT therapist who will be able to demonstrate a highly developed knowledge and understanding of, and experience working with a wide range of mental health conditions including those with sensory needs and can work flexibly to meet service need. The successful candidate will provide high quality evidence-based therapy to working age adults experiencing functional neurological disorders and severe mental health problems. You will work in collaboration with a wider multi-disciplinary team including other Psychological Professions, nurse specialists, physiotherapists and occupational therapists. You will receive high quality supervision and CPD opportunities to enable you to achieve or maintain your accreditation. You will be part of the clinical leadership team within the service, leading on the continued development and evaluation of the CBT therapist role. There is an expectation of ability to utilise skills including supervision of staff, development and delivery of training and service evaluation and development both within the team and wider within the trust and local statutory sectors and third sector organisations.
