You must have Level 2 Food Hygiene and safety This role will not attract a visa please ensure you have the right to work in the UK before applying Main duties of the job To assist in the provision of a highly professional and customer focussed catering service to all patients, staff and visitors on the hospital sites To assist with all associated catering duties To follow duties laid out by the supervisor in the day to day operational management of the catering service in a friendly and efficient manner, whilst maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene To work within all areas of the catering department, main kitchen, staff and visitor outlets, offering a flexible approach to workloads as staffing levels dictate Working for our organisation Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust provides NHS hospital services for around 900,000 people across Berkshire, Hampshire, Surrey and south Buckinghamshire. We are also proud to host the Defence Medical Group South East at Frimley Park with military surgical, medical and nursing personnel working alongside the hospital's NHS staff providing care to patients in all specialties Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities On a typical day as a Ward Host you can expect to take part in the preparation and service of meals, , carry out cleaning responsibilities and communicate with numerous patients, members of the public and other staff of all levels. This role will also cover the catering outlets at Heatherwood Hospital, including our staff restaurant and Café Glade, undertaking cashier duties, assist with deliveries and quality assurance and stock control The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and willing to work hard as part of team, as well as confident to carry out individual duties. You will be interacting with a high number of patients each day, playing a vital part in making their stay as comfortable as possible and raising spirits with a friendly and compassionate service. Due to the nature of the role, you will be required to adhere to departmental standards and food hygiene regulations. You will also act at all times in a manner that upholds the Trust’s values, working as part of a team to ensure efficiency and excellent customer care. Catering experience is desirable along with a certificate in food safety though this is not essential, as full training will be given.
