Job Description We are currently seeking a Principal Engineer with expertise in application development and software architecture. As a Principal Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in driving the technical excellence of our products and services. You will be responsible in leading the design and implementation of scalable software architectures across our Healthcare Service. Your expertise in full stack software development will be essential in shaping our infrastructure and empowering our organization to deliver seamless user experiences. You will collaborate closely with your teams, contributing your expertise to plan effectively and achieve technical excellence. As hands-on leaders, you will guide problem-solving efforts, mentor team members, and shape the necessary skills within multiple squads. Alongside Product Managers and subject matter experts, you will help define deliverable roadmaps and ensure adherence to agile principles, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. Please note, this is a 12 month Fixed Term Contract. Skills & Responsibilities: Contribute to designing and delivering scalable and robust software solutions for the Healthcare Service Collaborate with Product Managers and subject matter experts to define and prioritize deliverables, ensuring adherence to agile principles Strong understanding of software engineering and architecture with an in depth knowledge of well governed agile delivery and DevOps Proficiency in architecture, governance and formal reviews in design and direction setting Knowledge of automation including test automation, CI/CD, infrastructure as code and operational monitoring and alerting Cloud first approach to design with strong knowledge of AWS Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, incorporating them into our software development practices Knowledge of security architecture, web application architecture using Python / React, strong API architecture skills, Java, Postgres/Aurora, and NoSQL databases (Mongo / Document DB). As well as experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform) and broad knowledge of AWS. Qualifications Degree or equivalent experience.
