We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and dynamic qualified nurse to join the team. The Clinical Night Sister ensures patient provides clinical support to all areas of the organisation during the night. The Clinical Night Sister performs assessment of critically unwell patients and performs appropriate interventions including utilising clinical skills such as arterial blood sampling and venepuncture and cannulation. The Clinical Night Sister attends cardiac arrests and medical assistance calls overnight, utilising ILS/ALS skills. The Hospital at Night sisters and Night Nurse Practitioners work closely with the extended team including surgical, medical and other specialist doctors. The role of Clinical Night Sister also includes capacity management, this includes ensuring capacity information is kept up to date, working closely with wards, assessment areas and ED to ensure allocation of available beds, whilst working with the clinical site team to maintain nationally agreed targets in a safe and patient focused manner. We offer numerous learning and development opportunities such as Advanced Life Support qualification and Health assessment module, as well as learning extended clinical skills such male catheterisation and arterial blood gas sampling and analysis. Will contribute to corporate objectives, acting within local, Trust and statutory guidelines and policies at all times. Effectively communicate information regarding clinical decisions, policy and care pathways to patients/carers and the multi-professional team. A skilled practitioner and clinical leader providing support to the Hospital at Night team to ensure patient and site safety at all times throughout the night. Responsible for clinical assessment of patients and provision of advanced nursing interventions to maintain and improve the health and welfare of patients in all areas of the hospital. Organisation of cross-departmental/organisational activities including HR, resource, and bleep-holder responsibilities as appropriate. Demonstrate highly technical and/or practical skills to ensure optimum patient management including; complex patient monitoring; equipment management and frequent administration of invasive tests/procedures. Capacity and flow management as per standard work document Develop and educate staff, participating in supervision, mentorship and appraisal as required..
