Salary: £17,301.43 per annum (FTE £24,222) + 5% employer pension contribution. 21 HSC are looking to recruit a Carer Support Officer and Young Carer Support Officer on an exclusively retained basis for Unity. Unity is a highly regarded and long-established charity in North Ayrshire, they have supported unpaid carers for more than 20 years and have been contracted by the local Health and Social Care Partnership to introduce a vastly enhanced service. The role's purpose is to identify and assist unpaid carers in a specific North Ayrshire locality. When necessary, they refer carers to specialised assistance within the Carers Gateway service and other groups. They assist carers in identifying their requirements and putting together a package of support to accomplish personal outcomes. Carer Support Officers oversee the local caseload, uphold, and assess Gateway support plans to ensure that carers receive continuous, high-quality support that adapts to their evolving needs. Through networking, forming partnerships, and keeping a visible presence in the community, the Carer Support Officer upholds a high profile for the Gateway programme in their area. Key Roles And Responsibilities Responsible for proactive identification of carers within the locality. Responsible for responding to all enquiries and referrals for carers in the locality. Responsible for ensuring that all carers needs are met. Responsible for triaging carers to the required services. Responsible for ensuring that all carers are offered an Adult Carers Support Plan. Responsible for liaising with local partner organisations to support carer identification. Responsible for establishing peer support groups within the locality. Responsible for promoting the Gateway service within the locality. Provide guidance on Carers rights and entitlements. Essential/Desirable Skills And Attributes It is essential to have a driving licence and access to a car for business use. It is essential to have previous work experience with unpaid carers, lived experience or other relatable experience. It is essential to understand carers rights and benefits.
