This is an experienced, dedicated and well established team who would support the new applicant in settling into the role The post will involve rotation between the Treatment Unit and the Outpatient Review Clinics to provide support to the nursing team and the patients treated here. The post is for up to 30 hours per week to be worked between 8am and 6pm Monday to Friday and set working days would be possible on discussion with the unit manager. You must possess GCSE's in Maths and English at grades 9 - 4 (or equivalent). The role of the postholder is diverse. In the Haematology treatment Unit the successful applicant will be required to undertake observations of patients receiving chemotherapy; providing drinks and meals for patients as required; acting as a runner between the Unit and Pathology/ Pharmacy as needed; supporting the nursing staff within the unit as they place peripherally inserted central catheters and undertaking simple dressings. There will also be a requirement to collect blood products from pathology to support the transfusion workload of the unit. We have a set of established Trust Values and expect all staff to work within these at all times. We would also expect you to be able to demonstrate how you work within our Trust Values as this is very important to us.
