You will manage the small animal side of the practice alongside the practice manager, with the support of the farm and equine clinical directors, and the area director and support manager. You will be the small animal clinical lead in the practice, consulting with clients and performing surgeries. Other duties include: * Supporting the team to achieve best practices and deliver the best outcomes for our patients. * Responsibility for the financial performance of the small animal side of the practice and supporting the team to reach our intended goals. * Following IVC policies and procedures and promote this within the team. About Avondale Veterinary Group The roots of Avondale Veterinary Group originated from 1921, and our claim to fame is that our founding partner was the first to diagnose and report an LDA! We have been Avondale since 2005 and moved to a purpose-built small animal and equine facility in 2009. Our practice is located in a rural location on the outskirts of the small market town of Strathaven in South Lanarkshire. Strathaven is a historic market town located close to the River Avon which was granted Royal Burgh status in 1450. The town boasts several local attractions, such as Strathaven Castle, Strathaven Park, Airfield and Golf Club and has a great community spirit with excellent schools. We currently have 5 consulting rooms, dental xray, ECG and laparoscopic equipment. The practice is a very desirable place to work, with some of the best views, an incredibly spacious waiting room, large meeting room, and a great cafe within the agricultural centre adjacent to us. The directors have a close-knit relationship which allows us to support each other's departments as required, whilst still giving each department the autonomy to make their own decisions. Meet the team We have a large multidisciplinary team comprising 3 Clinical Directors, 15 clinical Vets, 5 Vets solely undertaking export work, all delivered with very strong Nursing and Reception support, comprising 10 Registered Veterinary Nurses/Veterinary Care Assistants and 9 Receptionists. We take part in the annual Strathaven raft race and this year have three rafts taking part- with some team members electing to get wet and others preferring to support from dry land!
