The Community Dental Service is a specialised service that provides dental treatment for adults and children, who, because of additional needs such as learning disabilities, physical disabilities or vulnerability, are unable to access general dental care. Main duties of the job Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust Community Dental Services seeks to recruit a permanent Consultant in Paediatric or Adult Special Care Dentistry to support service delivery across North Yorkshire and York. The post holder will be responsible for delivery of high quality level 3 services, as well as supporting the service in delivery of level 2 Paediatric and Adult Special Care Dentistry within a Community setting. Subject to negotiation, clinical sessions may be delivered in Harrogate and Northallerton supporting our team of Consultants, Specialists, and Senior Dental Officers. This highly equipped team have access to digital radiography, operating microscope, computer based records and is well integrated with both Harrogate and York acute hospital systems. In addition, treatment under conscious sedation is available in all areas and treatment sessions under general anaesthesia are delivered at 4 acute sites across the service in Northallerton, Scarborough, York and Harrogate.
