Informal inquires prior to application are encouraged. Applications are being sought for the post of Consultant Cardiologist, with a special interest in cardiac imaging. This post is predominantly at Poole Hospital. The position being replaced includes all aspects of specialised cardiac imaging including cardiac MRI, cardiac CT, stress echo and TOE, but other sub-specialty experience will also be considered in suitable candidates. UHD Cardiology are also recruiting a fixed term 12 month Locum Consultant with an interest in Heart Failure and Imaging. Therefore, there is potential to amend the job plan across both posts, for the right candidate(s). The appointee will be expected to spend 10 Programmed Activities (average 4 hour sessions) per week as laid out in the provisional job plan based on Direct Patient Care and this will include work relating to prevention, emergency work (including on call), subspecialty sessions, ward rounds, outpatient activities, clinical diagnostic work, other patient treatment, public health duties, multi-disciplinary meetings and administration relating to the above. Timetables may be changed in the future to meet the changing needs of the Directorate and the successful candidate could be asked to take on additional work in general cardiology depending on their skill set - this will attract additional PAs.
