An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic, suitably qualified, experienced, and self-motivated candidate to become a Senior Server & Cloud Infrastructure Engineer. As a key member of theServer & Cloud Infrastructureteam within the Digital Data and Technology department, the successful candidate joins a diverse and growing department playing a pivotal role in the modernisation and continued development of the server and cloud infrastructure. They will also provide 3rd line technical support in specialist areas e.g Microsoft Windows Server operating systems, Linux, Active Directory, virtualisation technologies, anti-virus products, backup and archiving solutions, server hardware and monitoring and cloud platform development and support. BCU invests heavily in its workforce, the successful candidate will have access to regular training opportunities included industry recognised certifications and the option to join the British Computer Society. The role will primarily work remotely from home; however, the candidate's base will be either Abergele Hospital, Bangor Hospital or Wrexham Maelor Hospital. They will also be able to attend any BCU site where physical server infrastructure, or associated appliances, resides as and when necessary and at short notice in line with working practices. This role includes proactively developing and maintaining the Server and Cloud infrastructure at BCU, as well as specialist applications used for clinical, and business needs within the Health Board. Providing technical support within a 3rd line Technical Team function. This is a senior technical engineering role within the department, working under the guidance of the Lead Engineers, and providing support and advice on all technical matters to other teams and staff in the organisation. Regular communication with 3rd party providers will also be required. As well as the day to day running and maintenance aspects of the job the role will also be expected to investigate complex issues using a high degree of expert knowledge, and to provide advice and input to wider programmes and projects within BCU. Ideally, the post holder should have a relevant degree or industry recognised qualification(s), or equivalent experience in some of the following areas; Microsoft Intune and Endpoint Configuration Manager (SCCM) or equivalent desktop/mobile management platform.
