An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced midwives to join the management team on our Maternity Inpatient Wards. The successful candidate will have a passion for creating an environment that will promote high quality care, whilst seeking to improve patient safety and in doing so facilitating a positive patient experience in the antenatal and postnatal setting. Josephine Barnes and Ann Stewart wards have a total of 47 beds, caring for high risk antenatal and postnatal women. It is a fast paced environment staffed by two other Band 7's, a core and rotational team of enthusiastic staff who show commitment to prioritising care whilst working in partnership with women and the wider team. Visibility on the wards is essential; this will be achieved by working together ensuring there is clinical leadership across all days of the week. As inpatient ward manager you will be responsible for the transformation programme initiative's such as length of stay, Baby friendly initiative, keeping positive patient experience at the forefront of our care. Role will involve the responsibility of ward management to ensure process and audits are in place and regularly reviewed in line with local and national guidance. The role will also involve daily oversight of patient flow and direct line management of core and rotating staff. You will be required to exhibit leadership behaviours that demonstrate respect, resilience, trust and energy, positively impacting on the culture of the workforce, leading to a happy workplace. You will be supported in your role to work 40% clinical and 60% administration. A part of this will be supporting the senior leadership team in covering the maternity unit manager shifts, pro-rata. "}
