The post will hold a specific portfolio relating to the public health priorities, planning the implementation of recommendations while taking account of national and local strategic priorities. The Area Public Health Co-ordinator will hold a level of autonomy, providing specialist advice/public health guidance and leading on the effective planning, development, implementation and evaluation of evidence based health improvement programmes at a locality and Moray wide level. Excellent communication skills are required to work effectively with a wide range of health and social care colleagues, multi-agency groups/networks, as well as engage with people in the local community to undertake public health activities that aim to reduce health inequalities and improve health and well being. Experience of community development desirable. An understanding and working knowledge across the health service setting and experience of partnership working is essential.
