Responsible and accountable for the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care without supervision. To lead and monitor the performance and standards of care within the Nursing Team. To take the lead on projects as appropriate. In conjunction with the unit Matron and other Junior Sister/Charge Nurse, facilitate the development of the service and personal development of all nursing staff within the clinical area of responsibility. To deputise for the unit ward sister/Matron in their absence, attending appropriate meetings, maintaining an organised and structured workforce. Person specification Qualifications Essential criteria Registered Nurse Teaching and assessing qualification Nursing degree or on degree pathway Desirable criteria Degree level registration Chemotherapy administration course / SACT Passport Experience and Knowledge Essential criteria Competent in basic life support and IV administration Competent in the administration of chemotherapy.
