Offer professional advice to the Chief Executive, Trustees and advise them on National relevant health policy and development. Work with the Director of Services Strategy on the development and delivery of clinical services, working with and through the lead clinicians, the Executive Group, the Chief Executive and Trustees Deliver clinical operations that embrace the changing environment in hospice care that is pioneering and innovative. Provide professional leadership within the clinical team, to ensure clinical staff maintain a high standard of clinical care and ensure patient satisfaction with the service provided. As the Registered Person to ensure that the Essential Standards for Quality and Safety are continuously and consistently met. Work with the clinical team to develop, review, and manage all policies, procedures and competencies for the nursing, therapy and volunteer services within the organisation via the clinical network system. Provide a safe environment and effective and efficient management through the application of relevant legislation to nursing, therapy and bereavement practice and a thorough Clinical Governance system. Promote a learning environment, embracing and disseminating clinical research findings for all nursing, therapy, bereavement staff and volunteers to ensure that care is up to date, and evidence based. Work with the Director of Finance and Operations to procure and ensure the safety of clinical equipment and supplies within a specified budget. Accountable Officer for the safe management of Controlled Drugs Lead for Safeguarding of Children and Adults, including Deprivation of Liberty (Safeguarding) Holds responsibility for ensuring plans are implemented to prevent avoidable healthcare associated infections at all levels of the organisation. Responsible for infection control at all delivery sites. 2. Communication Develop and support good communication across the charity. Represent the charity externally, promoting public confidence and reputation. Work with the Director of Fundraising to support awareness and fundraising including the development of cases for support, funding propositions and case studies. Develop and maintain good relations with all stakeholders commissioners, other service providers and voluntary agencies including the CCG, Macmillan, neighbouring hospices, nursing homes and GP practices. Liaise with external professional services for patients across the organisation. Provide an effective communication network within the multidisciplinary team. 3. Management Develop strong recruitment and retention schemes for nursing, therapy, bereavement, and volunteer staff working with patients. Ensure that all nursing staff are registered with the NMC and therapy staff with their professional bodies and that all staff are Criminal Records Bureau checked prior to working in the organisation. Plan and prepare agendas and papers for all Clinical Governance Subcommittee meetings. Manage and update the Clinical Governance Risk Register Responsible for ensuring there is a system of clinical supervision and appraisal for all nursing, therapy, bereavement staff and volunteers 4 . Financial Management Prepare the clinical budgets with the support of the Finance team. Actively engage in financial planning Provide reports and briefings for the charity, CCG contract reporting and other stakeholder reports.
