The ward cares for a variety of patients with complex needs pre and post cardiothoracic surgery as well as providing care for cardiology patients. King's College Hospital provides tertiary cardiac care and receives cardio-thoracic patients from across the South East, as part of Kings Health Partners we work closely with partner organisations and work together to form the cardiovascular network transforming cardiovascular services across the region. We are committed to staff development and education with all staff having access to a wide range of educational and development resources. The practice education team support staff in the clinical area and each new staff member will have an individualised training and development plan, further academic study opportunities are available to staff at King’s with our partner higher education institutions What can we offer? The area is supported by a team of Practice Development Nurses, who offer 1:1 clinical supervision, teaching and study opportunities. We offer in house & accredited courses to further your knowledge and skills within this speciality. We Need The Successful Candidate To Be Able To Be a safe and effective practitioner able to provide high quality nursing care to patients and support to relatives. Work with support, within a multidisciplinary team to provide continuing care to a specified group of patients from admission to discharge. Supervise and teach junior members of staff and learners as appropriate. Maintain own personal development with support. Particular emphasis is put at Kings on the need to ensure that all staff recognise their responsibility to deliver services in a high quality, courteous, patient focused manner maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
