Patients have varying nursing care dependencies offering you the opportunity to care for acutely unwell children. Patients are admitted to our wards for an extended period of time and you will have the opportunity to build a close rapport with the patient and family which is extremely rewarding and fulfilling. As a Band 6 you will be leading the team to deliver evidence based, high quality, novel care to our patients and their families and will be key in guiding junior members of our team to excel in their work. Main duties of the job Clinical:o To be a clinical expert within the specialty.o To ensure the provision of excellent, evidence-based nursing care for the children, young people and their families at all times.o Ensure that each child or young person is assessed, and that their care is planned, implemented and evaluated in negotiation with the family, and that this is accurately documented.o Promote Family Centred Care and ensure the provision of a welcoming, caring, clean and safe environment for the children, young people and their families. o To act as an advocate for the child, young person and family ensuring the provision of appropriate information and support services.
