The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a diverse case load including Child in Need, Child Protection, and Child in Care cases, including involvement in Care Proceedings where necessary. Responsibilities Manage a case load of Child in Need, Child Protection, and Child in Care cases, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children and young people. Conduct assessments and develop care plans in collaboration with children, families, and other professionals. Provide timely and effective interventions to support children and families in crisis situations. Attend court hearings and represent the interests of children in Care Proceedings. Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, including partner agencies and service providers. Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records in accordance with statutory requirements and departmental policies. Support duty responsibilities as part of the Children's Social Work Service, including responding to safeguarding concerns and emergencies. Requirements Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England. Previous experience working within Children's Social Work Services, preferably in a similar local authority setting. Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to child protection and welfare. Excellent assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities. Commitment to professional development and continuous learning. Flexibility to work at least three days a week in the office and participate in duty rota arrangements.
